Trade union representatives are being encouraged to prepare for significant changes to employment law as new rights come into force.

Tomorrow, a webinar will provide a practical briefing on the latest developments in the Employment Rights Act, focusing on how the changes will affect workplace representation, casework and negotiations.

The session will feature Kate Dearden, the minister responsible for employment rights, who will outline what the reforms mean in practice.

Also speaking will be Paul Nowak, general secretary of the Trades Union Congress, who will set out the wider national context of the reforms. Legal guidance will be provided by Jo Seery from Thompsons Solicitors, who will explain how the new provisions can be applied in real workplace situations.

Organisers say the webinar aims to combine legal insight with practical, experience-based guidance to help union representatives make effective use of the new rights once they are implemented.

With union reps expected to play a key role in putting the changes into practice, the briefing is designed to ensure workplace representatives are equipped to use the new legal protections with confidence.
